John Hawthorne ("Contextualism revisited", conference at the (excellent) EpiConFor workshop at the Archives Poincaré, Nancy 12-14 nov) presented a third way in which an agent could have context-sensitive thoughts without being confused that I hadn't thought of: Change of Mind!

Assuming some language-of-thought story is true, can the language of thought include context-sensitive words? Prima facie: it can't, unless thinkers get confused. I develop the point in more detail here, namely why a mind/brain with context-sensitive LoT would normally get confused and what the options are for it to have context-sensitive thoughts without getting confused.
